Paving Stone Driveway Project
— San Jose, CA
This home located on Trenton drive in San Jose, CA is a typical driveway project. The concrete driveway obviously needed repair. There were some sections that were lifting because of the tree roots from the redwood tree.
There was a water main issues that the homeowner had to deal with in which case the concrete driveway needed to be broken in order to repair the problem. This obviously left the homeowner with a decision to either repair the concrete with a slight patch, tear out the entire driveway and replace with concrete or stamped concrete, or replace the driveway with interlocking paving stones. They choose paving stones! Good decision.

Paving Stone Advantages
Most people prefer the look and versatility of paving stones, but they do come in at a higher price point. However, the versatility aspect only, such as in this case, provides a better long term investment. For instance, if there was ever a problem with a water line or sewer line we could lift the pavers, have a plumber make the necessary repair and then place the pavers back down and no one would ever know; there would be no noticeable patch work, unlike concrete or asphalt.
If you have done your research on paving stones, whether its driveway paving stones or patio paving stones, you already know that they don't crack or break, unless of course you break them intentionally.

Use Paving Stones for thier Flexibility
This paving stone driveway project in San Jose helps illustrate the flexibility that paving stones offer. Imagine if the plumber that fixed the water line didn't do it right (this has happened before I'm sure of it) and later he owners discover a leak. What if the home owners and went ahead and patched the section or worse yet replaced the entire driveway with concrete?! They would have to bust out the section to fix the problem and then patch it thus wasting thousands of dollars on a new, unfortunate, unsightly driveway.
Adding Curb Appeal to your Driveway
Another point to make is that this house is a rental and if the owners ever want to sell the house in the future, paving stones will look so much nicer than concrete and will add more value to the home just based off of curb appeal.
Before 2008 when the market was booming and real estate prices were increasing, people were doubling they're money after installing a paving stone driveway or paving stone patio. Now days people will still profit on their investment; perhaps not double their money, but upgrading with paver stones for driveways or paver stones for patios will definitely increase the overall look and functionality of the property and help sell at a much faster rate.
