Driveway Pavers Project—Alamo
We just finished a beautiful driveway in Alamo California. It had the typical broken asphalt found throughout this area. Back when this home was built, pavers were practically non-existent in the United States. Interlocking Paver driveways, also referred to as Paving Stone driveways are really just becoming popular. For homes such as this, asphalt has always been the eyesore in between the home and the landscape; even after repairing it every so often. Now, with these awesome paver stones, this driveway is going to shine for years and years.
Driveway Paver Sealer
We typically like to apply a sealer for pavers, especially for driveways. It helps lock in the sand between the pavers and it also helps protect them from staining. As an added bonus the sealer also enriches the colors of the paving stones.

We picked a paving stone that shared some of the same colors as the wall's rock siding, and the roof. The owner also liked the color of the stones because it's going to match well with the new paint that has yet to come. We hope to go back for a few pictures when that's finished!
We added a circle to spice things up just enough without catching too much attention. The dilemma was that the circle for this type of concrete paver only came in a 9' diameter and that just wasn't big enough to fill the space between the fence line and the walkway on either side. So what we did was just put some rings around it – expanding the diameter to 16 feet.
For the walkway, we decided to keep the same footprint as before. We just broke out the cracked slate tiles and concrete. Even though the owner, and myself, love the look of slate, it just didn't hold up well over time and needed to be replaced. The porch, however, was still in pretty good condition so we decided to keep it. To add some connection to the walkway and the slate tile porch we just sprinkled in some other colors.
This was a fun project and we love working in Alamo. It's quiet and surrounded by nature – peaceful. Luckily, due to the work we performed, we now have two more projects that we'll soon be working on!
